Billy Thorpe and the Aztecs - Sick and Tired - LIVE.mpg
Billy Thorpe and the Aztecs LIVE in 1964. Playing in Australia... possibly Sydney by the hats the cops wore. Can any of the fans in the audience be identified?

Billy Thorpe and the Aztecs - Dawn Song

Billy Thorpe and the Aztecs playing the Dawn Song live on Australian ABC TV's Hitscene, circa 1971. Worth watching the whole video. Its extremely rare.
This exciting reimagining - and others like John Farnham's version of 'Help!' - speaks volumes about the brilliance of Lennon and McCartney's writing. I'd like to think people will continue to experiment and reinvent Beatles songs till we all take the Big Dirt Nap!
Intro sounds like Muse
Just no!
If the Beatles hadn’t written this song This guy wouldn’t have had a song to copy.
Pink Zoot, yay
This with Doug Parkinson's Dear Prudence were right up there with Cocker's Little help from my friends!
2:38 damn well that happened
Funny version 😂😂😂
A great, creative renditition of a classic Beatles song
I like the instrumental part a lot, although it doesn't remind me of Eleanor Rigby at all. The singing part... Meh. It's okay but, better than? No.
Tbe legacy theae guys brought to Aus music is. Rick Springfield (international star), beeeb birtles (LRB) Darryl Corton (solo career)
Like the version of "Every Little Thing" by YES, this is an interpretation of the Original. It's different, sure; but it holds up nevertheless.
Good cover version!
That's an amazing interpretation of that song.
Well, it's a version...
Who is the young girl shown bottom right at 2:26 with long straight dark hair, spotted dress. She looks like she's had about a much excitement as she can take. She would be in her mid 70's now. I bet she remembers that night clearly. And when it went to air on TV and she had to explain to her father.
Better than the Beatles version my arse.
Rick could shred , act & sing , legend !!
Sorry, but Ray Charles did a better cover.
"better than The Beatles version" was proved wrong in under 5 seconds 🗑️
😂😂😂😂 not
Stupidest comment I've ever seen is " better than the Beatles " on top of that the version sucks
I always admire a Beatles cover. They’re hard to pull off. I really love the singing and the arrangement but the intro is way way too long. Good effort.
you are on crack
Nein, ist es sicher nicht.
Is this from American Idol?
Different but NOT better than the original.
has nothing to do with The Beatless. Without any feelings :(
Interesting
Rubbish
Gave it an honest listen…..it’s decent, but NOT better than the original, by the Beatles.
I love the original version but this is such a wonderful cover they completely reinvent the song well before metal bands were even thought of! Musically brilliant
Eleanor Rigby is a beautiful ballad about loneliness not a bloody Rock Song .I'm Australian and hated Zoot's version then and still do 60 years later.
Posers
Aretha Franklin did a great version of the song. So did Ray Charles.
Yeah, no.
No mentions that Rick Springfield is on guitar??
THE STENCH FROM THIS IS QUITE AMAZING TO SAY THE LEAST. 😂 🤣 😂 IF YOU REMOVED THE LYRICS FROM THIS NO ONE ON PLANET EARTH WOULD EVEN REMOTELY RECOGNISE THE SONG.
How can?
I would have totally been one of those screaming girls if i was born 20 years earlier
Manierism, a lot of noise - no understanding of original song
Hard psychedelic rock in the style of ‘Frigid Pink’ and ‘Blue Cheer’.
not bad......but sorry......Richie Havens is far far better.......
Wow man!!!!!!!! Far better then the original. I am Dutch and the Aussies always make me happy. Cheers mates.
SO SORRY ! 😢 NOTHING comes close to the ORIGINAL by the BEST band in the world then and now ! Especially this knockoff !
la primera versión metalera de los BEATLES, cuando aun tocaban
This version, although good, fails to capture the song's essence. The overemphasis on guitars strips away its charm and subtlety. In contrast, The Beatles' original version shines thanks to its beautiful orchestral arrangement, creating a unique and emotionally charged listening experience.
Wow. This is cool. So glad it's here
Never! No one!!
Rick Springfield on guitar. Eddie trunk brought me here
